Last month I reviewed some of our special products to support your health and assist in weight loss. This month, I will concentrate on some very special anti-aging crèmes to help “turn the clock back” on aging. After 35, your body starts to change. Both men and women experience a change in their hormone production and levels. We see our bodies shift from lean and muscular to rounder with more fat deposits on our hips, thighs, arms and worst of all, our belly. I write this to you today as I sit here eating a sandwich. You see, I respect my waistline and I don’t want to expand it rapidly with the likes of heavily breaded, sugar laden sandwiches, okay? (I use high protein, low carbohydrate wraps made with quinoa and other low gluten wheat alternative grains).  Unfortunately, 49% of Americans eat at least one sandwich per day, and believe it or not, many good folks in this great country are consuming MULTIPLE sandwiches per day… nothing short of a travesty.

Fact is, sandwiches are really bad news for your fat loss efforts and for two primary reasons:

1. Processed wheat.  Processed wheat is probably the biggest dietary contributor to America’s obesity problem and the contents of a sandwich lies between two grand slices of it.

But what about “healthy” whole wheat bread?  That HAS to be good for you.  Nope, think again.  Despite having more fiber than its “white” counterpart, 2 slices of whole wheat bread raise blood sugar far higher than a sugar-sweetened soda or even a sugary candy bar.  This is because the wheat of today is nothing like the wheat of generations ago, having been genetically modified by the food industry, mutated, and exposed to the likes of industrial toxins and radiation to force an unnatural higher yield at the expense of your health.

2. High-fat and/or high-sugar, high-calorie sauces.  Whether its mayonnaise, thousand island dressing, garlic aioli, BBQ sauce, or some other sort of “special sauce”, these high calorie sauces further bombard your blood stream with more sugar and fat, throwing your fat-storing hormone, insulin, into overdrive.

Any way you slice it (pun intended), most sandwiches are your waistline’s worst nightmare.  Although convenient, there are much better, just-as-delicious options for your belly, such as a cheese-smothered grass fed beef burger patty topped with a fried egg — yum!  Just remember to ditch the bread and you’ll be A-OK.

~ THREE Ways to Stay Healthy ~

 

Here are 3 healthy behaviors that can go a long way toward improving your health and lowering your risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and osteoporosis. And they’re not as complicated as you might think. Choose one behavior below to start with. Once you’ve got that one down, move on to the others. I have more, but three is a good starting point.

  1. Maintain a Healthy Weight

Keeping your weight in check is often easier said than done, but a few simple tips can help. First off, if you’re overweight, focus initially on not gaining any more weight. This by itself can improve your health. Then, when you’re ready, try to take off some extra pounds for an even greater health boost, call me at the office.

     Tips

  • Integrate physical activity and movement into your life.healty weight
  • Eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
  • Choose smaller portions and eat more slowly.
  • Limit children’s TV and computer time.
  • Encourage healthy snacking on fruits and vegetables.
  • Encourage activity during free time.

 

  1. Exercise & Get Adjusted Regularly

Few things are as good for you as regular physical activity and adjustments. While it can be hard to find the time, it’s important to fit in at least 30 minutes of activity every day. More is even better, but any amount is better than none. Make sure you make your appointments here at the office as well.

     Tips 

  • Choose activities you enjoy. Many things count as exercise, including walking, gardening and dancing.
  • Make exercise a habit by setting aside the same time for it each day. Try going to the gym at lunchtime or taking a walk regularly after dinner.
  • Stay motivated by exercising with someone.

 

  1. Don’t Smoke

You’ve heard it before: If you smoke, quitting is absolutely the best thing you can do for your health. Yes, it’s hard, but it’s also far from impossible. More than 1,000 Americans stop SMOKING… for good… every day. If you smoke you can do it too.

     Tips 

  • Keep trying! It often takes six or seven tries before you quit for good.
  • Talk to a health-care provider for help. We think our services should be at the top of your list of health care providers.
  • Join a quit-smoking program. Your workplace or health plan may offer one.
  • Try to quit as soon as possible. If you smoke, your children will be more likely to smoke.
  • Don’t smoke in the house or car. If kids breathe in your smoke, they may have a higher risk of breathing problems and lung cancer.
  • When appropriate, talk to your kids about the dangers of smoking and chewing tobacco. A health-care professional or school counselor can help.

Dear Patient,

   Did you know the other day I found out a few facts about the 4th of July? I didn’t know some of them and since it is July, I thought I’d share my findings with you.

The Declaration of Independence was not signed by all representatives until August 2, 1776. To make it official, John Hancock, then President of the Continental Congress signed it. Now, can you guess where the saying “put your John Hancock on it” came from?

Fourth of July is not complete without parades and fireworks though. Fireworks are enjoyed by almost everyone including me and the family. Enjoy the fourth and remember why we’re celebrating our freedoms as Americans. You do have the right of choice.

OFFICE UPDATES

“COOL FACTS”

for the Fourth of July…

  • The names of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were withheld from the public for more than six months to protect the signers. If independence had not been achieved, the treasonable act of the signers would have, by law, resulted in their deaths.
  • Thomas McKean was the last to sign in January, 1777.
  • The origin of Uncle Sam probably began in 1812, when Samuel Wilson was a meat packer who provided meat to the US Army. The meat shipments were stamped with the initials, U.S. Someone joked that the initials stood for “Uncle Sam”. This joke eventually led to the idea of Uncle Sam symbolizing the United States government.
  •  On June 24, 1826, Thomas Jefferson sent a letter to Roger C. Weightman, declining an invitation to come to Washington, D.C., to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It was the last letter that Jefferson, who was gravely ill, ever wrote.
  •  Both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on Independence Day, July 4, 1826.
  • The 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence did not sign at the same time, nor did they sign on July 4, 1776. The official event occurred on August 2, 1776, when 50 men signed it.

So his father asked him again, ‘Did you cut down the cherry tree?’ Abraham answered with, ‘Father.  I cannot tell a lie. I did chop it down.’ Then the father said, ‘Well, since you were honest with me, you are spared from punishment. I hope you have learned your lesson, though.’ So, the little boy’s father asked again, “did you knock down the

outhouse?” “Father, I cannot tell a lie.” said the little boy. “I did knock down the outhouse.” Then the father spanked the little boy red, white, and blue. The boy whimpered, “Father, I told you the truth! Why did you spank me?” The father answered, “That’s because Abraham Lincoln’s father wasn’t in the tree when he chopped it down!”

CHIROPRACTIC STORY

1895

    The year was 1895, the same year x-rays were discovered.   At that time, health care was provided by a diversity of unregulated and unlicensed professions, including osteopaths, magnetic healers and “medical” doctors.

In those days, most medical education consisted of working as an “apprentice” for a medical doctor, and learning the craft by observation.

D.D. Palmer, the Father of Chiropractic, was a magnetic healer, with a huge practice in Davenport, Iowa.   He had doubts about the “germ theory” as the complete explanation of the cause of all disease.   After all, if germs could kill…shouldn’t we all be dead?

He asked “How it was that 2 brothers could work in the same shop, eat the same food, sleep in the same bed, and that one would succumb to a disease while the other one would not?”

His belief was that it was not just the “seed” (or germ) which was the cause.  DD Palmer

He felt that the “soil”, or the bodies own recuperative power (which he later labeled the “innate intelligence”, and we now call homeostasis) was the missing part of the equation, which defined the difference between health and “dis-ease”.

One day D.D. was trying to talk with Harvey Lillard, the man who owned the janitor service in his office building.   Harvey was deaf.  He told D.D. that years prior to now, while lifting a heavy weight, he felt something “snap” at the base of his neck.

It was several weeks later that his hearing started to fade.

D.D. was intrigued, and asked Harvey if he could examine his back and neck.   What he “felt” (and we now call “palpation”) was that one of the upper back bones was sticking out much more than the one above or below it.

He explained to Harvey that he felt that this “bone out of place” could be causing pressure on his spinal cord, and that this could be the reason that Harvey was now deaf.

He convinced Harvey to lie down on the couch, and placed his hands on the transverse processes of the bone and, as D.D. explained, “wracked it back into position”.   When Harvey got up, he said that he could hear a horse drawn cart down on the street!

This was the first thing he had heard in 17 years!

What an auspicious way for a profession to be born!   Our “no drugs, no surgery” approach has remained true to D.D.’s philosophy of the “seed and the soil”.

What we accomplish with an adjustment of your spine, is to remove the interference to your brain, the control center of your body.

Obesity, Spinal Problems, Arthritis and Disc Disease

 

Last month I discussed the relationship between obesity and cancer, as well as other health issues. Many of you have taken my advice regarding weight loss and have called to hear more about what we offer. I would like to add one closer to home for my patients. Arthritis, degenerative disc disease and joint pain are all associated with excess body weight. Additional weight on spinal joints, hips, knees and feet can contribute to premature wear and tear on these structures.

My Quick Thoughts for This Month

My Thoughts: A lot of people call the office because they have headaches and neck pain. So what causes neck pain? Good question. Pain located in the neck is a common chiropractic condition. Neck pain can come from a number of disorders and diseases and can involve any of the tissues in the neck. Examples of common conditions causing neck pain are degenerative disc disease, neck strain, neck injury such as in whiplash, a herniated disc, or a pinched nerve. Neck pain can come from common infections, such as virus infection of the throat, leading to lymph node (gland) swelling and then neck pain. Neck pain can also come from rare infections, such as tuberculosis of the neck, infection of the spine bones in the neck (osteomyelitis and septic discitis), and meningitis (often accompanied by neck stiffness). Neck pain can also come from conditions directly affecting the muscles of the neck, such as fibromyalgia and polymyalgia rheumatica. Neck pain is also referred to as cervical pain. Risk factors for neck pain include injury from involvement in contact sports, motor-vehicle accidents, bull or bronco horse riding, falling, or any type of whiplash etc. Prevention of neck pain in the context of these activities should include neck strengthening exercises and often neck bracing along with regular chiropractic adjustments as well as regular check ups.

Question: Why Do I Have Headaches???

      I get that question at the office from new patients all the time. I’m going to keep this as simple as I can for this newsletter. Headache pain results from signals interacting between YOUR brain, blood vessels, and surrounding nerves.
     During a headache, specific “nerves” of the blood vessels and head muscles are activated and send pain signals to your brain telling it that you have a PAIN. It’s not clear, however, why these signals are activated in the first place because I’ve had patients eat a hot dog, drink some wine, or just get under some stress and they’ll have a headache.
     Headaches that occur suddenly (acute-onset) are usually due to a pinched nerve somewhere in their body, stressful situation that causes their muscles to tighten up and cause a subluxation, some type of illness, an infection, a cold, or even a fever. Other conditions that can cause an acute headache include sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses), pharyngitis (inflammation or infection of the throat), or otitis (ear infection or inflammation). If you’re having headaches and you’re just covering them up with medications, make sure you call the office today and let the doctor do a follow up examination to find out the root cause of your headaches. Headaches are not something that everyone has, or should have. Call now if you have them.

“What Causes PAIN?”

Great question. With anyone I know, pain relates to a sensation that something hurts. If you feel pain… that means it hurts, or you feel discomfort, distress and perhaps some agony, but again, that all depends on the severity of your PAIN. Your pain can be steady and constant, in which case it may be an ache. It might even be a throbbing pain – or a pulsating pain. The pain could have a pinching sensation, or a stabbing one. When you tell me you have a pain, make sure you’re very clear as to what kind of pain you actually have. That way I can find the area of your body that is most likely causing that pain if it is coming from a pinched nerve.

The English word ‘pain’ probably comes from Old French (peine), Latin (poena – meaning punishment pain), or Ancient Greek (poine – a word more related to penalty), or a combination of all three.

    Only the person who is experiencing the pain can describe it properly. Pain is a very individual experience.

The NIH (National Institutes of Health) National Pain Consortium estimates that the public health burden of pain affects one third of America’s population at a cost of between $560 billion and $635 billion each year!

Well time is moving along. It’s already May, and here’s what I know. Life bestows changes on us all: a new baby, a teenager who is growing up, a midlife crisis for someone we know, a person we know with dementia, someone we find out has a terminal illness, etc.
During my years in practice, I’ve found that a well-written book can ease the concerns of an expectant mother or offer words of wisdom to a family devastated by the unexpected.

Obesity increases cancer risk by around 40 percent in women, according to new figures from Cancer Research UK.

I don’t like talking about cancer, because someone takes what I say and then says that I said I can cure cancer. This also isn’t about losing a few pounds to look better in a swim suit or fit into last year’s shorts. This is serious stuff. The HUMAN BODY is an incredibly complex and intricate system, one that still baffles doctors and researchers on a regular basis despite thousands of years of medical knowledge. As a result, it shouldn’t be any surprise that even body parts and functions we deal with every day have bizarre or unexpected facts and explanations behind them. From sneezes to fingernail growth, here are a few weird, wacky, and interesting facts about the human body.

The HUMAN BRAIN is the most complex and least understood part of the HUMAN ANATOMY. There may be a lot we don’t know, but here are a few interesting facts that we’ve got covered.

1. Nerve impulses to and from the brain travel as fast as 170 miles per hour. Ever wonder how you can react so fast to things around you or why that stubbed toe hurts right away? It’s due to the super-speedy movement of nerve impulses from your brain to the rest of your body and vice versa, bringing reactions at the speed of a high powered luxury sports car.

2. The brain operates on the same amount of power as 10-watt light bulb. The cartoon image of a light bulb over your head when a great thought occurs isn’t too far off the mark. Your brain generates as much energy as a small light bulb even when you’re sleeping.

3. The human brain cell can hold (5) times as much information as the Encyclopedia Britannica. Or any other encyclopedia for that matter. Scientists have yet to settle on a definitive amount, but the storage capacity of the brain in electronic terms is thought to be between 3 or even 1,000 terabytes. The National Archives of Britain, containing over 900 years of history, only takes up 70 terabytes, making your brain’s memory power pretty darn impressive.

4. Your brain uses 20% of the oxygen that enters your bloodstream. The brain only makes up about 2% of our body mass, yet consumes more oxygen than any other organ in the body, making it extremely susceptible to damage related to oxygen deprivation. So breathe deep to keep your brain happy and swimming in oxygenated cells.

5. The brain is much more active at night than during the day. Logically, you would think that all the moving around, complicated calculations and tasks and general interaction we do on a daily basis during our working hours would take a lot more brain power than, say, lying in bed. Turns out, the opposite is true. When you turn off your brain turns on. Scientists don’t yet know why this is but you can thank the hard work of your brain while you sleep for all those pleasant dreams.

6. Scientists say the higher your I.Q. the more you dream. While this may be true, don’t take it as a sign you’re mentally lacking if you can’t recall your dreams. Most of us don’t remember many of our dreams and the average length of most dreams is only 2-3 seconds–barely long enough to register.

7. Neurons continue to grow throughout human life. For years scientists and doctors thought that brain and neural tissue couldn’t grow or regenerate. While it doesn’t act in the same manner as tissues in many other parts of the body, neurons can and do grow throughout your life, adding a whole new dimension to the study of the brain and the illnesses that affect it.

8. Information travels at different speeds within different types of neurons. Not all neurons are the same. There are a few different types within the body and transmission along these different kinds can be as slow as 0.5 meters/sec or as fast as 120 meters/sec.

9. The brain itself cannot feel ‘pain.’ While the brain might be the pain center when you cut your finger or burn yourself, the brain itself does not have pain receptors and cannot feel pain. That doesn’t mean your head can’t hurt. The brain is surrounded by loads of tissues, nerves and blood vessels that are plenty receptive to pain and can give you a pounding headache.

10. 80% of the brain is water. Your brain isn’t the firm, gray mass you’ve seen on TV. Living brain tissue is a squishy, pink and jelly-like organ thanks to the loads of blood and high water content of the tissue. So the next time you’re feeling dehydrated get a drink to keep your brain hydrated!!!

Can Chiropractic HELP Arthritis?

YES! Let’s take a look and see HOW.
There are TWO different conditions known as “arthritis”. By definition, “arthritis” is inflammation of the joints.
But, there are actually two kinds of “arthritis”. First, there’s osteoarthritis, sometimes referred to as “wear and tear” arthritis. This includes DJD or Degenerative Disc Disease. Then, there are several variations of rheumatoid arthritis.
Osteoarthritis or “wear and tear arthritis” is just that, a sort of wearing away of the joint. It typically shows up as we age OR after years of excessive use or wear on a joint.
Many people tell me “The orthopedist told me the disc in my neck or low back is worn down because of my age.”
My response is “Well, how old are the other discs in your spine?” DJD or osteoarthritis of the spine is usually caused by bones in the spine that are NOT in alignment and/or postural distortions. The discs wear away and your body tries to stabilize the area. On x-ray, this reaction looks like little bone spurs. It’s actually the body trying to fuse these vertebrae in order to protect you. Usually, the problem is not noticed until the disc is about gone and the spurs (or osteophytes) start to press on your nerves, causing pain.
The standard medical approach to “wear and tear” arthritis is self-medication with over-the-counter painkillers and NSAIDS, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like Tylenol, Advil, etc. If not resolved, you can end up on steroids or prescription painkillers that can lead to addiction.
The eventual medical solution is surgery, sometimes very risky surgery with long-term consequences. The other type of arthritis, called rheumatoid arthritis, is an inflammatory autoimmune condition that causes pain, swelling and disfiguration, usually easily seen in the hands. As with most autoimmune conditions, the cause is unknown.
Yet, treatments start with over-the-counter painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs, then prescription painkillers, then immunosuppressant drugs. The mandatory warnings on these drugs warn you of infection, disease and even death.
There are many ways chiropractic helps those with arthritis. If you do indeed have spinal misalignments referred to as subluxations, this can cause the discs to wear down more quickly.

As a chiropractor I am trained to detect and correct those mis-alignments with gentle, specific adjustments. As your body stays in its proper alignment, not only is the pressure taken off the nerves, but the proper motion between the spinal bones is restored. This reduces your body’s need to lay down new bone to stabilize your spine. When that happens, your symptoms are reduced and your quality of life improves. If you maintain that proper alignment, you become stronger and help keep them from coming back.
The other way chiropractic helps is neurologically. Anyone that has ever suffered from an autoimmune disease knows that it’s made worse by stress. Chiropractic adjustments help take stress off your nervous system allowing your body to rest, relax and heal. By taking stress off your nervous system, your body functions better. When your body is restored to proper function, healing and health happens naturally. Here’s what I think about STRESS.

Do You Want Help With Stress?

There are two principles that uniquely bind chiropractic and stress management care.

The first is the principle of MOVEMENT. In stress management care, it is imperative for the patient to realize that most emotional issues cannot be fully resolved in one day. Life is a process and revelations about one’s life occur over a period of time. Thus, stress management strategies are directed at providing for positive emotional movement in resolving our stressissues.

Chiropractic is founded on the premise that the body heals itself. It can do so when the nervous system is FREE from any interference in nerve transmission to the body.

When there is loss of proper bodily motion, muscles lose their natural tone causing nerves to become irritated. Therefore, full range of motion of the musculo-skeletal system is essential to nervous system integrity. Chiropractic manipulation is directed toward increasing range of motion and decreasing muscular restrictions.

The second principle relating chiropractic and stress management is the phenomenon of REFLEXES. A reflex occurs when one body system is unbalanced and causes another system to function improperly. It is well accepted that our mental/emotional condition affects our physical state.

Perhaps the best known reaction of the body to emotional stress is the neck muscle tension and headache occasioned by emotional stress. This mechanism is known as a psychosomatic (muscle) reflex. A similar mechanism occurs when emotional stress causes a stomach ulcer. This is a psychovisceral (organ) reflex. Get checked today!!!!

I love it because it’s getting warmer, and the sun is staying out longer, but here are some things to consider. The first of this month is what we call April Fool’s Day. Good Friday falls on the 3rd. Easter Sunday is on the 5th. Passover begins at sundown 3rd and 4th, and lasts 8 days. The big bad day for most people is April 15th because our income taxes are due (most years it is due on the 15th), but sometimes we get lucky and get a few extra days. Patriot’s Day is the third Monday of this month, and Earth Day (in the U.S.)is the 22nd.

QUESTION: Here’s what a patient wrote lately in an email. “I’ve never been to a chiropractor, but I thought I’d just write you an email. That way I can find out upfront if you can help. Here’s what’s going on and the reason I’m writing you today. I have lost most of the use of my right arm and hand over the past 6 to 9 months. I have muscle problems as a result. I have muscle twitching, chronic pain from my hand, right arm, right shoulder, back behind my shoulder blade, neck and up through my neck. I get sharp pains in my neck, behind my shoulder blade, and in my shoulder. My right hand has progressively gotten colder to the touch over the last 6 months to the point now that it is VERY cold to EVERYONE that touches my hand (as the weather gets colder, so does my hand. An arthrogram indicated no arterial blockage per my medical doctor). I get occasional numbness in my fingers. Can you help and what do you think is my problem?”   ANSWER:The problem can stem from your neck. It can also be some other issues. Nerve pinching does not necessarily make your hands and fingers cold. This is a vascular phenomenon and you want to do something about it as fast as you can because this is not something that is just going to go away. It sounds to me as though this is some variant of a condition called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy or Reflex Sympathetic Pain( RSD). Big name huh? Well let me explain that to you. This is an unusual syndrome that can come on after any kind of hand/arm trauma. It seems to be a problem in people’s nervous systems and then that leads to spastic musculature, then maybe you have some coldness in your hands. It also leads to widespread pain. If you already have atrophy or a condition where you’re losing your muscle size, it is probably fairly advanced. Medicine has little to offer except heavy pain killers. I now have a form of light therapy to help repair these injured nerves and help relieve some of the severe symptoms.. Saint. Patrick’s Day…When is it? March 17th. Saint Patrick’s Day is in honor of the Patron Saint of Ireland, who brought Christianity to the Emerald Isles, as Ireland is known. It is truly a day of celebrating Irish history, ancestry, traditions and customs. Are you Irish perchance? Well, the saying goes everyone is a little Irish on Saint Patrick’s Day. I’m not sure everyone is, but I’m going to pretend they are. I’ll tell you why somewhere else in this newsletter. Dr. Jay Thoughts: If your brain is important to you, according to a study by Dr. A. Vania Apkarian of Northwestern University in Chicago, chronic back pain causes parts of the brain to shrink! But it’s not the back pain that you should be concerned about. It’s what is causing the back pain and the consequence of not addressing the underlying problem that worries us at the office. In most cases back pain is not a muscle problem, like a lot of people think it is. It’s usually because of an underlying health problem. The most common cause of back pain in science today is called the vertebral subluxation complex. It’s February and I’ve have a ton in this newsletter to share with you. I was surfing the internet and I came up with a famous quote from a famous man. It’s February and we all seem to have the winter doldrums. Here it is. “Happiness consists more in small conveniences or pleasures that occur every day, than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom.”  This was written by Benjamin Franklin.

Lumbar Herniated Disc

Since its Valentine’s Day, let’s talk about a herniated disc. Now if you’ve never heard that term, you’ve probably never had any lower back pain. As a disc degenerates and breaks down, the inner core can leak out through the outer portion of the disc, and this condition is known as a disc herniation or a herniated disc. The weak spot in the outer core of the intervertebral disc is directly under the spinal nerve root, so a herniation in this area puts direct pressure on the nerve.

The nerve runs through the leg, and any type of pinched nerve in the lower spine can cause pain to radiate along the path of the nerve through the buttock and down the leg. This type of pain is also called sciatica or a radiculopathy.

 Lumbar Herniated Disc Symptoms
  • General symptoms typically include one or a combination of the following:
  • Leg pain (sciatica), which may occur with or without lower back pain. Typically the leg pain is worse than the lower back pain.
  • Numbness, weakness and/or tingling in the leg
  • Lower back pain and/or pain in the buttock
  • Loss of bladder or bowel control (rare), which may be an indication of a serious medical condition called cauda equina syndrome.

 

L4-L5 and L5-S1 Disc Herniation Symptoms

The vast majority of disc herniations will occur toward the bottom of the spine at L4- L5 or L5- S1 levels. In addition to typical sciatica symptoms, nerve impingement at these levels can lead to: L5 nerve impingement (at the L4 – L5 level) from a herniated disc can cause weakness in extending the big toe and potentially in the ankle (foot drop). Numbness and pain can be felt on top of the foot, and the pain may also radiate into the buttock.

S1 nerve impingement (at the L5 – S1 level) from a herniated disc may cause loss of the ankle reflex and/or weakness in ankle push off (patients cannot do toe rises). Numbness and pain can radiate down to the sole or outside of the foot.

 

New Fibromyalgia Treatment

Fibromyalgia affects thousands of people. It is often misdiagnosed and the term is used as a dumping ground for vague diseases when your doctor doesn’t know what else to call it. In fact, many in the medical profession still do not recognize it as a legitimate disease. However, many people do indeed have something called fibromyalgia. The symptoms may include sleeplessness or difficulty sleeping, deep muscle aches, specific patterns of active painful trigger points, severe episodes of muscle pain, electrical shock pain and spasms.
